I attended Millom School from 1954 until 1969 and then got a maths degree at Cambridge, followed by a PGCE at London. I taught maths near Lincoln for a couple of years before moving into computing, where I spent the rest of my career, most of it with Lincolnshire County Council. I retired (very early!) in 1995 and am now a part-time tutor with the Open University.
I am married to Rosemary and we have 3 sons, Richard, Robert and Jonathan. Rosemary is a pianist and piano teacher.

Taken pre-swimming pool. The 'cricket stumps' painted on the wall were still clearly visible in the early 1980s. Possibly still are!
